Registration of Interest

What is a Registration of Interest?

An Expression of Interest Only, this does not mean the registering swimmer/s have a definite place within Golden Bay Swimming Inc.
All Eel, Dolphin & Snapper Level Swimmers will be assessed to gauge their current swimming ability.
The swimmer/s current swimming ability is not related to the swimmer/s age and or their friends' age or their friends' level of swimming.

Which Swimmers must Register their Interest?

All Returning Members are to Register their Interest each Swimming Season.
Each Returning Member MUST Register in the Swim Level they were in at the end of last swim season.
All Returning Members registering must also, at the same time of registering, email the secretary with their date to assess and the level in which the swimmer is assessing in.

All New Members are to Register their Interest each Swimming Season.
Each New Member MUST Register in the Swim Level they're Currently Swimming at. (Please check the Swimming Levels tab on the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Website, this enables an accurate gauge on the swimmers current level of swimming).
All New Members registering must also, at the same time of registering, email the secretary with their date to assess and the level in which the swimmer is assessing in.

Do all Swimming Levels attend the Swimming Assessments?

If your swimmer is an Eel, Dolphin or Snapper these Swimmers must attend the Swim Assessment.
If your swimmer is NEW to Golden Bay Swimming Inc., they must attend the Swim Assessment.
Orca and Marlin Level Swimmers do not attend the Swim Assessment.
The Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Coaches will assess Orca and Marlin Levels as the season starts.

Are Swimming Spaces limited?

Yes, therefore Golden Bay Swimming Inc. exercises 'first in first served' due to these limited spaces.

Golden Bay Swimming Inc. are conducting their Swim Assessments differently this year.
When you register online you must also email the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Secretary via the following email address: gbswimming@gmail.com. In your email, please include your swimmers full name, their age, the day your swimmer/s will assess and the swim level they will assess in.
Assessment days, dates and times follow; Please Note: There are No Other Assessment Days/Times.

If you are a RETURNING MEMBER, shortly The Golden Bay Swimming Inc. 'Code of Conduct' will be emailed to you.
If you are a NEW MEMBER please refer to the Code Of Conduct section of our Website.
Please Read the 'Swimmers Code of Conduct' with your Swimmer and the 'Parent/Caregiver Code of Conduct'.
Ensure you both fully understand the 'Swimmers Code of Conduct' and the Parent/Caregiver Code of Conduct.
Both the Swimmer and Parent/Caregiver must sign the respective documents, as it is a requirement to be a Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Member.
If you have the means to print the 'Code of Conduct' please scroll to bottom of the 'code of conduct' pages where you'll see a PDF document you can download. Please print, sign, date and bring these documents with you to your Swimmers Swim Assessment.
If you don't have the means to print the 'Code Of Conducts', don't fret, we'll have printed copies for you and your swimmer to sign on their Swim Assessment day.
Your Swimmer MUST arrive 15 mins Prior to their Assessment to carry out paperwork & get settled poolside to warm up.
Upon arrival for the Swim Assessment, your Swimmer/s will be given a FREE swim cap.
SWIM CAPS MUST BE WORN during the Swim Assessment and during ALL Swim Lessons throughout the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swimming Season.

All Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swim Assessments are conducted and completed in Te Waka Kura o Mōhua Pool.
Upon entry into the pool area, swimmers are to go pool side and warm up ready to enter the pool.
Once in the pool and before their Swim Assessment takes place, the swimmer/s can do a mini swim warm up
Once the swimmer/s have completed their Swim Assessment, they are to exit the pool straight away.
The parent/caregiver will be emailed the swimmer's swim level.
If your swimmer/s do not meet the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Entry Eel Level of Swimming, recommendations will be suggested for the swimmer/s to attend Swim Mōhua Swim School or the likes.

If a particular swim level is at maximum capacity ie the level is full therefore no more swimmers can be placed in that level at that time, the swimmer will be placed on the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Waitllist.
When a place within the appropriate level becomes available, the coach of that particular level and group will inform the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Head Coach/Coach Coordinator and Secretary.
The Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Secretary will then contact the whanau via email. Informing the whanau their swimmer/s can now start in the following swimming level along with the days, times and Coach.
The parent/caregiver will receive an invoice stating the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Fee amount.
The invoice will need to be paid in full by the date mentioned to the whanau at the time of placement notification. Unless, there is an agreed Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Fees Payment Plan in place.
If there’s discrepancy over fee amount due, due to a swimmer being on the waitlist for a particular amount of time, refer to the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Fees Policy.

Invoices are automated.
If your swimmer moves Swim Level and the amount payable differs due to the new Swim Level, at such a time a new Invoice will be emailed to you.
