Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Assessment Procedure All swimmers and their parent/caregiver must arrive 15 mins prior to the Assessment time, to sign the appropriate Code of Conduct Forms before entering the pool for their assessment.
Please Note: The Whanau would have been sent all appropriate Code of Conduct Forms to Read Prior to their Assessment Day. Once the Code of Conduct Forms are signed and dated the swimmers will be given a swimming cap (Cap’s given on registration are Free, thereafter the good quality replacement caps are at cost to the Swimmer), swimmers are then to assemble poolside where the Coaches are and wait for the Coaches Instructions.
All Swimmers Must Wear a Swimming Cap both in the Assessment and whilst Swimming weekly for Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Ideally, 3 Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swim Coaches will execute the Assessments. However, if only 2 Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swim Coaches can execute the Assessments and 1 Committee Member Assists, this is ok (Please note the Committee Member is guided by the Swim Coaches).
The accepted minimum of Coaches executing the Assessments, is 2. When carrying out the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swim Assessment the following will take place, 1. One Person in the pool, 2. One Coach poolside organising the swimmers, 3. One Coach recording the outcome of each Assessment on the appropriate Swim Assessment Sheet. Coaches will record the Assessments on the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swim Assessment Sheet (see attached).
Once All Swim Assessments are completed in the pool, the 3 or 2 Assessment Coaches will complete all administration regarding the Swim Assessment. Once all administration is completed by the Assessment Coaches, this will be passed to the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Secretary.
Groups will be done on a “first in first served” basis. Via email, the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Secretary will then inform whanau one of the following;
1. Their swimmer is in either Eel, Dolphin, Snapper, Orca, Marlin Level, the days and times their swimmer will be swimming and who their Swim Coach is within Golden Bay Swimming Inc.
2. Their swimmer is wait-listed until a space becomes available in their swimmers level.
3. Their swimmer is best to attend Swim Mōhua until next season, as their swimmer is not ready for Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swim Levels at this time.
