Parent / Caregiver Code of Conduct
Golden Bay Swimming Inc. operates with Volunteers,Therefore rely on parent/caregiver help to run smooth and successful sessions daily.
Parent / Caregiver Of Swimmers Are Expected To:
Assist Swim Coaches & Coach Support in setting up and packing down (if appropriate) each swim session with the following;
- Underwater Platforms (If needed, Take from Gear Shed and place in the pool where instructed to by Coach and or Coach Support)
- Lane Ropes (Take from Gear Shed, Place the Lane Rope Holder either side of the diving board, apply brakes, carefully take the end of a lane rope to the opposite end of the pool, attach in the pool just under the edge of the pool)
- Flags (2 people needed - Take from Gear Shed, stand in appropriate holes either side of pool, at both ends of the pool)
- Flippers (If needed, Take bins out from Clubrooms place the bins pool side but away from the pool and away from foot traffic, keeping all safe)
- Anything else the Swim Coach and or Coach Support needs for the session.
Stay Poolside for the Entire Swim Session if their swimmer/s are Eel or Dolphin swimmers. This is Paramount for the Health and Safety of the swimmer, all other swimmers and all Swim Instructors/Coaches. N.B. This also applies if you have other swimmers in your care who are either in Eel or Dolphin Levels. Again, for the Health and Safety of all you must remain pool side the entire swim session.
Take a turn with the swimming pool gate during your swimmer’s session, ensuring those who need to enter/exit can do so safely, making sure the gate doesn't bang and/or catch anyone’s fingers.
Ensure all tamaiti/tamariki in your care are nowhere near the swimming pool’s edge. Failure to do so will result in the tamaiti/tamariki not being able to attend the pool area.
Ensure no food or glass is brought into the pool area.
Ensure all rubbish is taken home.
Take full responsibility of their swimmer/s prior to and straight after their swimming session.
Lead by positive example regarding all things Code of Conduct.
Respect the decisions of Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swim Coaches, Coach Support and other Representatives.
Uphold a positive attitude, encouraging swimmers to focus on building skills and enjoying swimming.
Refrain from smoking or vaping in accordance with the Golden Bay High School Smoke Free Policy.
Leave the pool area once the last session ends. After 6.15pm Community Keyholder Rules apply.
Note: Failure to uphold this Code of Conduct may result in further disciplinary action.

I _____________________________________ agree, to strictly action and uphold the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Parent/Caregiver Code of Conduct and understand the consequences if I do not.
