Swimmers Code of Conduct
When registering with Golden Bay Swimming Inc. the swimmer & yourself are agreeing to the following Code Of Conduct
All Golden Bay Swimming Inc. swimmers are expected to:
- Be respectful to and cooperate with Swim Instructors, Coaches and all others.
- Only be in the pool during your swimming session.
- Be sun smart - wear sunscreen and (when out of the pool) cover up, wear a hat, and stay in the shaded seating areas.
- Always consider the safety of others.
- All Golden Bay Swimming Inc. swimmers and parents/caregivers must leave the pool area once the last session ends. After 6.15pm keyholder rules apply.
Also follow Te Waka Kura o Mōhua Pool Rules (1-9) below:
- No Running
- No pushing/dunking/jumping/bombing in the pool
- No using the springboard unless instructed by your coach
- No unruly or dangerous behaviour anywhere in the water or around the pool.
- No food in and around the pool area.
- No glass in and around the pool area.
- No chewing gum in and around the pool area.
- No hanging out in the changing rooms.
- Rubbish must be taken home.
Adhere to Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Dress Code:
Swimwear:
- A one piece swimsuit and or swim shorts, swim rash top.
- Items are to be well fitting and are not to slip down or drag in the water
Goggles:
- To be worn by ALL Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swimmers at all levels, every session.
Swim Cap:
- Swimming Caps MUST be worn by ALL swimmers at all levels, every session.
- Golden Bay Swimming Inc. will provide a FREE swimming cap at the start of the Swimming Season.
- If you lose your Swimming cap or forget your Swimming cap, Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swimming Caps can be purchased for $5.00 each. (See the Clubrooms Window for instructions on 'How to pay for a Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swimming Cap').
Non-Compliance of Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Code of Conduct:
- Any Golden Bay Swimming Inc. swimmer not following the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Code of Conduct will be given an initial warning.
- If non-compliance of the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Code of Conduct continues during the Swim Lesson; The swimmer will be told to leave the pool immediately and stay out of the pool for the remainder of the session. Upon doing so, the swimmer's parent/caregiver will be informed.
- If non-compliance of the Code of Conduct continues in a second Swim Lesson, the swimmer will be told to leave the pool immediately. Upon doing so, the swimmer's parent/caregiver will be informed.
- Again, the swimmer must stay out of the pool for the remainder of the session.
- From there, in consultation with the swimmer’s parent/caregiver, the coach and/or a representative of the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Committee, a decision will be reached as to the swimmers future attendance for the reminder of the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swimming Season.

We agree, to strictly action and uphold the Golden Bay Swimming Inc. Swimmers Code of Conduct and understand the consequences if we do not.
